Tissot was founded in 1853 by Charles-Félicien Tissot and his son, Charles-Émile Tissot, today the company is owned by the Swatch Group that acquired it in 1998. The brand was founded in LeLocle in the Jura Mountains. In the early 20th century, the company merged with Omega under SSIH with several Omega-Tissot watches produced (like the Tissot version of the Omega Marine). The brand was also the official timekeeper for several sporting events like the Davis Cup in 1957. Several celebrities and notable figures have promoted Tissot, people like the Duchess of Cambridge and basketball player Tony Parker.
