Description
A circa 1940s vintage Rolex Sky-Rocket, recently serviced, with a beautiful patina on the bold Arabic numerals and a new crown and stem, plus the movement overhauled. Recently serviced, this vintage Rolex is working well, powered by a 17-jewel FHF 59 movement that was used by Rolex at the time, it measures 30 mm in diameter and is on a brand new suede leather strap. These Rolexes have an interesting back story as they were given to Canadian soldiers during WWII and cased in Canada for Rolex to avoid duty costs. This Rolex is in a Pioneer case. There was a number of old Rolex models that were also given to Canadian soldiers in a similar fashion, another is the Oyster Commander that was branded as 'Oyster Commander' instead of Rolex. These are very interesting pieces in relation to Canadian and Rolex history. We offer a flat rate for shipping on every order and 30-day free returns. We also offer a 2-month mechanical warranty for every purchase. All prices are in CAD.
Rolex History
Rolex is the most popular watch brand in the world by many standards, and while not the oldest or most expensive it is connected to a number of different historical events. Founded in 1905 in London, United Kingdom by Hans Wildorf, Rolex was connected to the story of the first woman to cross the English Channel with their waterproof Oyster case, to hollywood and motorsport with their Rolex Daytona chronograph, and to Edmund Hillary and his ascent of Everest with their early Rolex Oyster Perpetual that eventually became the Rolex Explorer. These and many other stories have resulted in their popularity over the years.
