Buren History
Buren was founded in 1898 as a result of H. Williamson Ltd. acquiring Fritz Suter & Cie, based in Buren an der Aare, both watch and clockmakers. H. Williamson Ltd. invested and expanded further in Büren and developed the newly acquired business into an international branch. From 1916 onwards Henry Williamson used the signature 'Büren Watch Co.' Buren eventually became Uhrenfabrik Buren AG and was eventually sold to Hamilton where it produced the hi-beat Cal. 82.
