Lanco History
Langendorf Watch Company SA, was a Swiss watchmaker from Langendorf, Switzerland that was active from 1873 to 1973. Lanco was a brand of Langendorf, launched in the 1950s and active in the late 20th century, it was the most popular brand of Langendorf that at one point was the largest watch manufacturer in the world! Langendorf also had other brands that filled the gap when Lanco was discontinued in the 1960s. It was revived in the 1970s with Lanco chronographs using third-party movements like Valjoux's. The brand was sold by SSIH in the 1980s and is currently owned by Swatch Group.
