Timex goes back to 1854 with the founding of the Waterbury Clock Company, that mass-produced quality watches throughout the late 19th and early 20th century. In the 1960s, with the rise of dive watches and skin diving, Timex creating the Marlin - that was famously tested on a lobster to prove its water resistance! Today Timex continues to make affordable watches, albeit focusing on quartz.
